[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Jinju City in Gyeongnam announced on the 31st that it will implement a toy pre-reservation rental service allowing toy loans at the entrance of the local toy bank starting January 5 next year.
The toy pre-reservation rental is a method that minimizes face-to-face contact between bank staff and users.
Recently, due to the prolonged closure of daycare centers caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), this service will be temporarily operated at five locations until the temporary closure ends: the Childcare Comprehensive Support Center, City Hall Toy Bank, Mujigae-dongsan Toy Bank, Chungmugong-dong Toy Bank, and Cheonjeong-dong Toy Bank.
All toys are provided after thorough disinfection, and members can rent up to two small toys that can be sealed.
To minimize user congestion, users can check the rental items on each toy bank’s website, verify the barcode of the reservable toys, then apply for pre-reservation by phone between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., and pick up the toys at the temporary rental site between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
A city official said, “To ease the childcare burden on families with infants and toddlers struggling with home care due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, we have prepared various toys suitable for the age and development of young children, so we hope families will make good use of this service at home.”
