Joo Ho-young: "If urgent vaccine inquiries are political strife... Was Moon the forefront of MERS political strife?"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Joo Ho-young, floor leader of the People Power Party, criticized the Democratic Party of Korea for refusing the 'vaccine emergency inquiry' request on the 31st, saying, "During the 2015 MERS outbreak, the Democratic Party not only requested and conducted an emergency inquiry but also operated a special MERS committee," and added, "At that time, President Moon Jae-in, as the leader of the Democratic Party, even demanded an apology from the government, calling it a 'super spreader.'"

At the emergency committee meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Floor Leader Joo said, "If holding an emergency inquiry on the vaccine supply situation is political strife, was President Moon at the forefront of the MERS political strife back then?"

He pointed out, "The Democratic Party's refusal to accept the emergency inquiry only admits that they have not properly reported to the public or prepared for the vaccine supply."

Regarding the nomination of Kim Jin-wook, senior researcher at the Constitutional Court, as the first head of the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Office (HOCI), Floor Leader Joo said, "It seems that President Moon's perception system, the Blue House's personnel advisory system, and message management system are completely broken," and sharply criticized, "There is no public expectation for an impartial investigation from the HOCI, which is obviously going to become a regime's personal guard and regime defense unit."

Floor Leader Joo said, "The Blue House made a shocking statement claiming to expect an impartial investigation when nominating the HOCI chief candidate," adding, "An impartial investigation is something that the HOCI chief, who is excluded from the president's influence, can carry out."
