Lotte Confectionery's Popular Character Mallang-i Collaborates with GS Retail for the Year of the Ox in 2021 원본보기 아이콘


[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] As we welcome the Year of the White Ox, the character Mallang-i is gaining immense popularity.


Mallang-i is the character of Lotte Confectionery's soft candy brand Mallang Cow, designed as a white-spotted calf to highlight the product's rich milk flavor. With its cute appearance and expressions, Mallang-i is highly favored by children and women, and already has strong commercial value as it is used in products such as dolls, hand wash, and phone cases.


Accordingly, Lotte Confectionery and GS Retail will sequentially launch 15 different planned products featuring Mallang-i starting from January 1. These products span both food and non-food categories, including beverages, dairy products, ice cream, desserts, snacks, and hygiene items, totaling 15 collaborative items.


Starting with ‘Mallang Cow Grand Yakult Strawberry Flavor’, followed by ‘Mallang Cow Milkade’, ‘Mallang Cow White Choco Latte’, and ‘Mallang Cow Milk Cow Ice Cream’, products such as ‘Mallang Cow Ball’, ‘Mallang Cow Pure Milk Cake’, and ‘Mallang Cow Wet Tissues’ will be released sequentially.


Additionally, leveraging Mallang-i’s character and concept, a variety of fresh food planned products such as lunch boxes, sandwiches, and gimbap that can be conveniently enjoyed as meals or snacks will be introduced.


Lotte Confectionery expects Mallang-i’s commercial value to increase further as a cute character fitting for the Year of the White Ox and plans to carry out various marketing activities utilizing it.
