On the 22nd, Groovelin stated through SNS, "In July 2020, Groovelin connected with artist Nafla and discussed moving forward together. In the same month, Groovelin and the original agency, Make It Rain, met to follow proper procedures and clear up misunderstandings between the two parties," they began.
Groovelin said, "During that process, we found a smooth point of agreement and were proceeding with the transfer procedures. In August 2020, Groovelin and artist Nafla drafted a contract related to the transfer, after which we proceeded with the artist’s profile photo shoot, new album production, and music video filming," adding, "In October 2020, Groovelin became aware of an unfortunate incident related to artist Nafla."
They continued, "Afterwards, Groovelin spent a considerable amount of time in deep reflection, long conversations, communication with the artist, and sincere commitments from him, ultimately making the difficult final decision not to terminate the contract signed with artist Nafla in August 2020."
Nafla is a rapper who won Mnet’s hip-hop survival show 'Show Me The Money 777.' He was given a suspended indictment last year on charges of marijuana use, and this fact became controversial when it was revealed in October.
Groovelin is a hip-hop label led by Ravi of the group VIXX.
Below is the full statement from Groovelin.
Hello, this is Groovelin.
As 2020, a year full of hardships due to COVID-19, comes to a close in December, we are preparing to welcome 2021.
First, we would like to express our gratitude to everyone who has cherished and continuously supported Groovelin this year as well.
We are reaching out to share some news.
In July 2020, Groovelin connected with artist Nafla and discussed moving forward together. In the same month, Groovelin and the original agency, Make It Rain, met to follow proper procedures and clear up misunderstandings between the two parties.
During that process, we found a smooth point of agreement and were proceeding with the transfer procedures. In August 2020, Groovelin and artist Nafla drafted a contract related to the transfer, after which we proceeded with the artist’s profile photo shoot, new album production, and music video filming.
In October 2020, Groovelin became aware of an unfortunate incident related to artist Nafla. Afterward, Groovelin spent a considerable amount of time in deep reflection, long conversations, communication with the artist, and sincere commitments from him, ultimately making the difficult final decision not to terminate the contract signed with artist Nafla in August 2020.
As of December 2020, Groovelin will do its best efforts together so that Nafla, as a Groovelin artist, can become a responsible artist who does not forget the wounds he caused everyone before and can have a positive influence.
To everyone who loves Groovelin, we hope that the coming new year 2021 will be filled with happiness and joy that may have been postponed for a while, and we sincerely wish that only smiling days will fill your year.
