Garak Market Fruit and Vegetable Market Closes After Morning Auction on December 31

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seoul Garak-dong Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market (hereinafter Garak Market) will be closed for the New Year holiday starting January 1, 2021.

According to Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation (President Kim Kyung-ho), the fruit section of the Garak Market's fruit and vegetable market closed after the morning auction on December 31 and will reopen from the early morning auction on January 4, 2021. The vegetable section held auctions until the evening of December 30 and will resume auctions from the evening of January 3, 2021.

Among the seafood market at Garak Market, the fresh fish and shellfish sections closed after the morning auction on December 31 and will restart from the evening auction on January 1, 2021. The dried seafood section held auctions until the morning of December 31 and will resume from the early morning auction on January 4, 2021.

Additionally, the auction markets (vegetable and fruit sections) of Gangseo Agricultural Products Wholesale Market (hereinafter Gangseo Market) have the same holiday schedule as Garak Market. However, the market wholesalers will conduct transactions until 6 p.m. on December 31 and resume transactions from 6 p.m. on January 3, 2021.

The grain market will conduct transactions until 6 p.m. on December 31 and resume from 7 a.m. on January 2, 2021.
