Pohang City Holds Meeting with Medical Institution Representatives... Discusses Establishment of Public-Private Joint Screening Clinics

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Pohang City in Gyeongbuk Province has strengthened its medical cooperation system, holding a 'Medical Institution Representatives Meeting' on the 17th in response to the nationwide surge in COVID-19 cases.

The meeting was attended by Pohang Mayor Lee Kang-deok, Pohang Infectious Disease Response Headquarters Director Kang Jae-myung, as well as directors and officials from major local hospitals.

At the meeting, participants discussed mutual cooperation measures including the establishment of dedicated infectious disease hospitals and public-private joint integrated screening clinics, expansion of respiratory specialty clinics, and enhanced inspection and management of high-risk infection-vulnerable facilities such as nursing hospitals and nursing homes.

Mayor Lee Kang-deok emphasized, "Thanks to the active participation and cooperation of local medical institutions and medical staff so far, we have successfully overcome various crises. I ask for continued active cooperation to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the region."
