[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Junho] The Ministry of Science and ICT's Korea Post announced that on the 12th at 5 p.m., it will hold the "Hope's Knock Online Concert" via YouTube to support the healthy growth of North Korean defector youth and children from multicultural families.

This concert, now in its fifth year, will be held online due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Children and adolescents from North Korean defector and multicultural families will showcase various performances including K-POP dance, instrumental ensemble, and orchestra collaboration.

Anyone can watch the online concert in real time by searching for "Hope's Knock" on YouTube, and can also send messages of encouragement and support through comments.

Since 2016, the headquarters, in collaboration with the Korean Music Therapy Association, has been supporting music therapy programs for North Korean defector youth and children from multicultural families at 102 related institutions nationwide.

A North Korean defector child who was introduced to music emotional education for the first time said, "I nurtured my dream of becoming a musician and was selected as a Seoul Metropolitan Government music gifted scholarship student," adding, "I want to help others through music just as I was helped."

Park Jongseok, head of Korea Post, stated, "We will continue to support music education integrated with therapy programs so that children and adolescents can grow into valuable human resources for our society."
