6 Bucheon Residents Confirmed Positive... Including 3 Children and Family Members from Cluster-Infected Daycare

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Bucheon City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 23rd that six people, including children and their families from daycare centers where the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) spread, tested positive.

Miss A, a resident of Sinjung-dong, is a child attending one of the two daycare centers in Jung-dong where cluster infections occurred. Miss A was quarantined after contact with the index patient, a teacher (Bucheon case No. 446) at this daycare center, and after showing coughing symptoms, she was tested yesterday and confirmed positive today.

Mr. B and two others, residents of Jung-dong, are family members of children who tested positive at the two daycare centers. They also showed coughing and fever symptoms during self-quarantine and tested positive today.

Another confirmed case, Miss C, had contact with a child (Bucheon case No. 453) who tested positive at one of the two daycare centers in Jung-dong. Miss C also showed fever symptoms during self-quarantine and was confirmed positive today.

The remaining two patients, Mr. D and another, are family members of Bucheon cases No. 445 and 433, respectively. They showed symptoms such as fever and headache during self-quarantine, were tested, and confirmed positive today.

Meanwhile, as of 5 p.m. today, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the Bucheon area is 476.
