Gangjin-gun, 69th County Residents' Happiness 'Hope Sharing'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] The Jeonnam Gangjin-gun Citizen Happiness Hope Sharing Project Team visited Hanam Village in Jakcheon-myeon on the 20th.

According to Gangjin-gun on the 23rd, this volunteer activity, conducted for residents of the four Jakcheon villages (Hanam, Sangnam, Todong, Ima), was carried out with about 100 volunteers and villagers participating together, divided into 30 fields including welfare, daily life, medical care, health, and others.

At the Hanam Village Hall that day, the volunteer activities began with voice phishing prevention education by Handeul Nonghyup, followed by foot massage, nail art, haircuts, and hair coloring services.

Volunteers also visited each target household to provide electrical and boiler repairs, as well as wallpapering and flooring services. In the afternoon, medical volunteer activities such as Oriental and Western medicine, dental treatment, and osteoporosis testing were conducted.

Park Chang-ju, head of Hanam Village, said, “I am grateful that such a good event was held in the four villages of Jakcheon-myeon despite difficult circumstances,” and added, “Many were exhausted, but for that one day, neighbors came together to enjoy a joyful celebration.”

Lee Seung-ok, the county governor, said, “Health is important in the era of 100 years of life,” and added, “The administration will provide various programs so that the elderly can live a happy and healthy old age.”

Meanwhile, the Citizen Happiness Hope Sharing Project has been conducting volunteer activities 11 times a year since 2013 with the purpose of ‘Creating a Warm Gangjin through Public-Private Cooperation.’

This event was carried out by reducing the number of participants to small groups in compliance with COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, and by preparing in advance through coordination with the local self-support center for venue disinfection, participant log registration, and temperature checks.

On the 20th, volunteer activities by the Gangjin-gun Hope Sharing Project Team were held in Hanam Village, Jakcheon-myeon.
