On the same day, Prime Minister Chung visited the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center in Seoul and received a report on the COVID-19 response status and the Infectious Disease Control Center from Gangnam-gu Mayor Jung Soon-gyun, and made these remarks.
Prime Minister Chung emphasized, "Gangnam-gu has many academies, companies, clubs, and pubs concentrated with a large floating population, so stricter quarantine measures are needed ahead of the college entrance exam and year-end holidays."
He continued, "I hope that Gangnam-gu's Infectious Disease Control Center, the first to be introduced by a local government, will be successfully operated, serve as a model for other local governments, and be a great help in overcoming COVID-19," encouraging the efforts.
He also urged, "To block the recent chain of COVID-19 spread, I ask the public to stay at home as much as possible and refrain from social activities during the year-end and New Year holidays."
Earlier, Prime Minister Chung visited the Market Kurly Jangji Logistics Center located in Jangji-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, and heard about the COVID-19 quarantine status from Market Kurly CEO Kim Seul-ah.
Afterwards, Prime Minister Chung directly inspected the COVID-19 quarantine site at the center and encouraged the officials.
At the site, Prime Minister Chung expressed gratitude, saying, "Since the collective outbreak of COVID-19 at the distribution logistics center in May, there have been no cluster infections, which is not a coincidence but a necessity, thanks to the special efforts of the government and the industry."
