[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Daegu Art Museum (Director Choi Eun-joo) will hold a 'Conversation with Artists' as a linked program to the 'Made in Daegu II' exhibition at 2 p.m. on the 21st and 28th.
A total of eight artists participating in the exhibition, including Kwak Hoon, Kwon Jeong-ho, Kim Young-jin, Park Doo-young, Park Cheol-ho, Seo Ok-soon, Song Gwang-ik, and Choi Byeong-so, will share the experimental and challenging spirit of the local art scene under the themes of 'Daegu Art Circle,' 'The Scene of Conceptual Art - Daegu Art in the 1970s,' and 'Korean Art Viewed through Western Culture.'
Since September 29, the Daegu Art Museum has been hosting the 'Made in Daegu II' exhibition, which explores the diverse experimental spirit and footprints of the local art circle. This exhibition will continue until January 3 of next year.
Visitors can also watch interview videos of the participating artists in the exhibition hall on weekdays. The 10 to 15-minute videos include explanations of the exhibited works and the artists' thoughts on Daegu art, attracting visitors' interest. In the upcoming 'Conversation with Artists,' stories that were not covered in the interviews and detailed explanations of the 1970s situation will be provided.
The eight artists participating in this exhibition have submitted large-scale new installation works for the Daegu Art Museum exhibition. The total number of exhibited works exceeds 3,500.
A representative of the Daegu Art Museum stated, "The participating artists recalled their past passion for art and produced a large number of new works, including large-scale installation pieces. They are proving their attitudes as artists and their individual originality through various large-scale works in different formats."
Meanwhile, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure safety, only 20 pre-registered participants can attend the 'Conversation with Artists' event on-site. Reservations can be made through the integrated reservation system on the Daegu Art Museum website.
