[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] European stock markets fell shortly after opening amid the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
As of 5:19 PM on the 13th Korea time, the pan-European Euro Stoxx 50 index was down 1.24% from the previous close, recording 3424.26.
At the same time, the UK FTSE 100 index fell 0.56% from the previous close, the French CAC 40 index dropped 0.10%, and the German DAX index declined 0.18%.
European stock markets, which showed an early-week rise due to the outperformance of technology stocks, continued a two-day losing streak through this day.
