[Announcement] National Tax Service Executes Record Promotion of Female Officials

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The National Tax Service announced on the 13th that it will conduct promotion personnel changes for 4 Deputy Directors and 27 Directors as of the 19th.

First, 4 Directors were promoted to Deputy Directors. This filled the vacancies created by senior promotions in September.

27 personnel were promoted to Directors. Among them, 5 were special promotions.

A notable feature is that a record number of 5 female public officials were promoted.

In particular, two female promotion candidates from the 9th public recruitment, Kim Youngchan, Head of the Value-Added Tax Division at Daejeon Regional Tax Office, and Kim Sunmi, Team Leader of Investigation 2-3 Team 1 at Busan Regional Tax Office, were promoted for the first time in six years since the second half of 2014.

The proportion of women among the Directors promoted in the second half of the year was 18.5% (5 out of 27).

This is higher than 14.3% (4 out of 28) in the first half of this year, 7.7% (2 out of 26) in the second half of last year, and 12.5% (4 out of 32) in the first half of last year.

Also, a record number of 8 personnel from the 7th and 9th public recruitment were promoted.
