[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] As Ttangkkeut Haenam, where the last autumn foliage of the Korean Peninsula lingers, is dyed with the late autumn atmosphere, a Dalma Trail walking event will be held every Saturday and Sunday for a month starting from the 14th.
According to Haenam County on the 13th, this walking event is composed of various courses, from the ‘Dalma Trail Tasting’ course (takes 2 hours) that even beginners can easily walk, to the ‘Dalma Trail Full Walk’ course (takes 7 hours) that covers the entire Dalma Trail.
In addition, courses such as the ‘Village Visit’ course, which continues with a village exploration after walking, and the ‘Dawn Walk’ course are also prepared to provide enjoyable activities for those visiting the Dalma Trail.
Especially during this period, a free shuttle bus will operate from Haenam-eup to Mihwangsa Temple, which is expected to help those who had difficulty participating due to the limited operation of public transportation. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, pre-registration will be required with a limit of 20 people per session.
Detailed daily walking courses can be checked on the Haenam County Office website or by contacting the Tourism and Festival Team.
The Dalma Trail is a 17.74 km circular trail created on Dalma Mountain, where the beautiful Mihwangsa Temple is located in Ttangkkeut Village. It is a representative walking travel route in the southern region, designed to preserve the historical and cultural resources of the old path while minimizing environmental damage and making it easy to walk.
Since its opening in November 2017, more than 180,000 domestic walking enthusiasts have visited, and the revisit rate is high, further enhancing its status as a famous destination for walking travel.
Myeong Hyun-gwan, the governor of Haenam County, said, “I hope you enjoy the late autumn atmosphere on the Dalma Trail and heal your tired mind from COVID-19,” adding, “We will strictly follow quarantine rules and do our best to ensure a pleasant and safe walking event.”
