[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Hampyeong County Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Association delivered packages of agricultural and specialty products to all local senior centers, which had been neglected due to the impact of COVID-19.

According to Hampyeong County on the 13th, the association delivered packages of agricultural and specialty products, directly produced by local farms, to all 375 senior centers in the area from the 11th to this day.

With the continued spread of COVID-19 causing most local festivals nationwide to be canceled and even the originally planned events being repeatedly called off, the budget was decided to be used for local farms and underprivileged groups.

The packages delivered this time consisted of a total of nine types of local agricultural and specialty products, including black rice, glutinous rice, honey, and soybean paste, all produced directly by return-to-farming residents who have actually settled in Hampyeong.

In line with the purpose of the event, masks were also delivered, and association members personally visited the senior centers to carefully check the health status and well-being of each recipient.

Park Chunchu, chairman of the Hampyeong County Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Association, said, “This event was prepared with the intention of meaningfully using the already secured budget for local farms with blocked sales channels or neighbors in need. Although these are difficult and challenging times for everyone, I hope this package, filled with the warm hearts of our members, can provide even a small comfort.”
