원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seul-gi] KIA Tigers pitcher Lim Ki-young (27) will tie the knot with cheerleader Kim Mal-geum (31) this December.
On the 13th, KIA Tigers announced, "Lim Ki-young will hold his wedding march with bride Kim Mal-geum in Gwangju on December 19."
Lim Ki-young and Kim Mal-geum, who was a cheerleader for the KIA Tigers' cheering squad for four years starting in 2015, were close friends before their relationship developed into a romantic one.
Lim Ki-young joined Hanwha in 2012 and transferred to KIA as a compensation player for Song Eun-beom (currently with LG Twins) after the 2014 season as a free agent.
After his transfer, Lim completed his military service at the Sangmu team and contributed to the team's overall championship in 2017 with an 8-6 win-loss record and a 3.65 ERA.
This year, Lim Ki-young achieved a personal best of 9 wins (10 losses) in a single season and recorded a 5.15 ERA.
Kim Mal-geum, Lim Ki-young's bride, moved to the SK Wyverns cheering squad this season.
Meanwhile, the Lim Ki-young-Kim Mal-geum couple plans to start their new life in Gwangju Metropolitan City, home to the KIA Tigers' home stadium, Champions Field.
