[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 13th that the Daegu World Citizen Education Center under its jurisdiction will hold the '2020 World Culture Festival' online and offline through its YouTube channel and the center from the 16th to the 21st for six days.

This festival is themed 'World Culture THINK (Thinking) · SHARE (Sharing) · ACT (Acting)' and is organized as a place for the educational community to cultivate multicultural and global citizenship awareness and communication.

For the non-face-to-face method, participation is possible every day from the 16th to the 20th from 5 PM for 4 hours via YouTube (channel name: 2020 World Culture Festival). During this period, various performances such as the Global Gugak Troupe's 'Sinbaetnori' performance, Gaon Eoulim Musical Troupe's 'Musical Gala,' and sand art that empathizes with multiculturalism will continue.

For the face-to-face method, the World Culture Experience will be held on the 21st at the Daegu World Citizen Education Center. Due to COVID-19 infection prevention measures, the number of participants is limited to 160, so prior registration is required.

Superintendent Kang Eun-hee said, "I hope for much interest and support so that all students can know and understand the values of diversity, human rights, and respect for others, and grow into culturally creative talents equipped with thinking, sharing, and acting suitable for the global era."

Meanwhile, the Daegu World Citizen Education Center, which opened in May last year, has established itself as a visionary space where not only multicultural students are supported but all local students grow into global citizens equipped with future competencies beyond the boundaries of region, nationality, prejudice, and color.
