[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] The cause of death of the three family members found dead in an apartment in Iksan, Jeonbuk, is presumed to be excessive bleeding and asphyxiation, according to the National Forensic Service (NFS).
On the 10th, the Jeonbuk Provincial Police Agency reported that the NFS delivered the preliminary autopsy findings to the police regarding A (43), his middle school son B (14), and his elementary school daughter C (10).
According to the findings, the NFS estimated that A died from shock due to excessive bleeding, while the two children died from asphyxiation caused by neck compression.
The police judged that it would be premature to conclude specific charges based solely on the preliminary findings and have requested detailed examinations, including drug response tests, to determine the exact cause of death. They also plan to conduct further investigations to clarify the specific circumstances of the incident.
Meanwhile, the police have obtained an arrest warrant for D (43), the only surviving member of the family and husband of A, on suspicion of murdering his wife and two children, and are currently investigating him.
D is suspected of killing his wife and two children at an apartment in Mohyeon-dong, Iksan City, on the 6th.
At the time, D was in critical condition due to stab wounds but was transported to a hospital for treatment and is now reported to have recovered enough to communicate.
