[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] KOTRA held the ‘2021 Global Business Trend Online Seminar’ on the 10th in collaboration with Interbiz.


Now in its fourth year, this seminar was organized to analyze the rapidly accelerating market changes caused by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) from multiple perspectives and to assist Korean companies in establishing their business strategies. About 300 planners, marketing personnel, and aspiring entrepreneurs attended online to grasp future market trends and seize new business opportunities.


Four experts from different fields served as speakers and presented trends in the world, economy, consumption, and technology respectively.


Jungyu Kim, Head of KOTRA Market Information Team, shared innovative business cases collected by KOTRA overseas offices around the globe under the theme ‘Global Trends That Korea Will Enthusiastically Embrace in 2021.’


Kwangseok Kim, known as the ‘Man Who Reads the Economy’ and Head of Economic Research at the Korea Economic Research Institute, presented key economic issues to watch in 2021, including ▲Korean New Deal and New Deal Fund ▲the post-COVID-19 economy.


Gilyoung Song, Vice President of Vibe Company and a ‘Mind Miner’ who explores human minds, shared results from social big data analysis collected through everyday human behavior. He also introduced methods for establishing communication strategies and discovering opportunities based on social big data mining.


Jaebung Choi, Professor at Sungkyunkwan University and author of ‘Phono Sapiens’ and ‘Change Nine,’ presented changes in the era of the new human species ‘Phono Sapiens’ born from smartphones. He looked ahead to how to prepare for the future in the Phono Sapiens era, which emerged during the Fourth Industrial Revolution and is now compounded by the pandemic.


Jaewon Ryu, Head of KOTRA Trade Infrastructure Headquarters, stated, “As the New Normal era rapidly arrives due to COVID-19, future forecasting has become more important than ever.
