[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The former chief of the Gwangsan Police Station in Gwangju, who caused controversy over sexual harassment of female employees at a drinking party, has been referred to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment.
The Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 10th that Inspector A was sent to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment on charges including forcible molestation.
Inspector A is accused of inappropriate physical contact with female employees at a restaurant in Seo-gu, Gwangju, on August 21.
The police recognized the establishment of Inspector A’s sexual harassment charges based on CCTV footage inside the restaurant.
However, the charge of violating the “Improper Solicitation and Graft Act” related to the approximately 200,000 won alcohol bill paid by a companion at the drinking party was dismissed.
Meanwhile, Inspector A was removed from the position of chief of the Gwangsan Police Station on September 3 following the sexual harassment controversy.
