New 'BRT Station' Established at Dungok Intersection in Daejeon Science Belt

[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City announced on the 10th that it will sign a business agreement with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation Daejeon Chungnam Regional Headquarters to install a central station for the Dungok Intersection Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).

The agreement is made to improve public transportation services and living conditions for resident institutions and residents in the Shindong and Dungok districts, which are key areas of the International Science Business Belt.

According to the agreement, the Korea Land and Housing Corporation Daejeon Chungnam Regional Headquarters will bear the project costs for the new BRT station, and the city will proceed with construction aiming for completion in 2022.

The station is planned to be installed at the point where the Daejeon Station?Chungbuk Osong BRT road meets the International Science Business Belt.

A city official stated, “Once the BRT station is installed, it is expected that the satisfaction of resident institutions and residents in the Shindong and Dungok districts, key areas of the Science Belt, will increase.”
