[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Uplus announced on the 10th that its 'U+ Intelligent CCTV' service, which automatically saves recorded videos to the cloud and allows monitoring from anywhere, has obtained certification in three categories?intrusion, loitering, and arson?at the Intelligent CCTV Solution Performance Certification Test hosted by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA).
The KISA-hosted Intelligent CCTV performance certification requires that abnormal behaviors such as intrusion, loitering, and arson recorded in the video database be accurately detected from 2 seconds before the occurrence to within 10 seconds after. Certification is granted when detection accuracy exceeds 90%. U+ Intelligent CCTV scored over 90 points in all categories, including basic intrusion detection, loitering, and arson functions.
The U+ Intelligent CCTV service, dedicated to enterprises and small business owners, uses artificial intelligence (AI) video analysis to distinguish between people and objects by analyzing footage inside and outside stores, detecting any abnormal situations. Customers can review videos flagged as abnormal and request emergency dispatches through the application.
LG Uplus added that, in addition to the basic intrusion detection function, U+ Intelligent CCTV offers paid add-on services such as 'loitering detection,' 'abandonment detection,' and 'flame and smoke detection.' The loitering detection function sends real-time alerts if an outsider loiters within a designated area for a set period. Abandonment detection notifies customers about objects such as trash, and flame and smoke detection sends alerts if flames or smoke persist beyond a certain time.
Kim Seung-hwan, head of AI technology at LG Uplus, explained, "Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the trend toward unmanned offline stores has strengthened, increasing demand for intelligent CCTV. With this KISA certification, U+ Intelligent CCTV has developed into the best CCTV in Korea, and with new add-on services, even stronger security is possible."
