[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Andong City in Gyeongbuk will hold a completion and opening ceremony for the municipal central library built in Ok-dong on the 10th, marking the start of its full operation.
The Andong Municipal Central Library was constructed on a 6,752㎡ site in a densely populated area with excellent accessibility (city-owned, 426-36 Gyeongbuk-daero), with a total floor area of 3,469㎡, consisting of one basement floor and three above-ground floors.
The basement floor houses a multipurpose room, offices, and a preservation archive; the first floor includes study rooms and children's and infant materials rooms; the second floor has reading rooms, general materials rooms, and a lounge. The third floor features a rooftop flower garden accessible from the general materials room, and behind the building, a beautifully designed outdoor garden serves as a rest and walking space for users.
For the official opening on the 11th, approximately 32,300 newly purchased books have been placed in the library's reading rooms, and a total of about 550 seats are available for users to read comfortably.
A library official stated, "We have been dedicated to preparing for the opening, including a trial operation from the 27th of last month to the 6th," and emphasized, "We will strive even harder to become a central library of the region that everyone wants to visit and stay in."
