[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgi Kim] Yoo Si-min, chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, is starting the foundation's YouTube broadcast 'Yoo Si-min's Alileo Season 3' (Alileo Book's) today (6th).
On the 4th, the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation announced, "It is transforming into 'Alileo Book's,' a cultural guidebook for becoming an awakened citizen."
They added, "The purpose is to cultivate a broad perspective and the power of thinking about society through the process of reading and discussing books together," and "There will also be segments such as 'Book·Pick·Sentence,' where participants select favorite sentences from books, and 'I Object,' where they reinterpret their own thoughts in a unique way."
In the first broadcast, Yoo will read John Stuart Mill's On Liberty with Professor Gong Jin-seong from Chosun University and discuss the topic of individual freedom in modern society and the state power that restricts it.
Before the broadcast, Chairman Yoo introduced the book by saying, "The democratic society we live in is built on freedom and creativity, and I have yet to see a book that organizes such a philosophical foundation in sentences as clear and beautiful as this one."
Meanwhile, Chairman Yoo had declared a halt to political commentary and broadcasting after becoming embroiled in controversy over his '180 seats for the pro-government coalition' remark during 'Alileo Season 2' just before the April 15 general election.
