Shinhan Financial Hope Foundation, Recipient of the 2020 Korea Sharing National Award

[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Shinhan Financial Hope Foundation received the Prime Minister's Award at the '2020 Korea Sharing National Awards' held on the 5th.

The Sharing National Awards, hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, is an event that discovers and rewards individuals and companies who have become social role models to spread the culture of sharing.

At this awards ceremony, conducted in four categories: human sharing, material sharing, life sharing, and mentoring, Shinhan Financial received the Prime Minister's Award in the material sharing category.

Shinhan Financial was recognized for its long-term efforts in three areas based on the group-level social contribution program 'Hope Society Project': ▲'Creating social value' through support for socially marginalized groups ▲'Creating future value' by supporting the youth generation, the foundation of Korea's growth ▲'Creating economic value' for coexistence with local communities.

Additionally, through the 'Hope Together Campaign' using a social funding method promoted in March, the group led relay donations among group companies and public participation to overcome the COVID-19 crisis, thereby spreading the culture of sharing.

Jo Yong-byeong, Chairman of Shinhan Financial Hope Foundation, said, "Under the mission of 'Warm Finance Together for the Future,' we will continue to carry out various social contribution activities so that customers and society can coexist and grow together."

Meanwhile, Shinhan Financial has established its group-level ESG system in three directions: 'Eco-friendly,' 'Coexistence,' and 'Trust,' actively practicing various ESG activities and social contribution activities to fulfill corporate social responsibility.
