[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Seong Il-jong, Emergency Response Committee member of the People Power Party, criticized on the 5th the statement by Roh Young-min, Chief of Staff to the President, who called the organizers of the Liberation Day rally "murderers," saying, "This is a classic example of the arrogance and pride with which this power-intoxicated regime treats the people," and added, "He never said a word about the real murderer, Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea."
At the Emergency Response Committee meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Seong said, "The National Assembly audit is a place where the people ask questions and the Blue House reports to the people," and added, "They apologized saying it was a bit excessive, but is that really an apology?"
Seong pointed out, "President Moon Jae-in violated the 50-person limit set by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and awarded the appointment certificate to Director Jeong Eun-kyeong amid a large crowd. Are the people who led that event murderers?" and asked, "Isn't it the same for Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party, who visited Bongha Village and met with numerous people?"
Seong stated, "The rally is a natural right that the people can exercise as resistance against this regime's incompetence, failed policies, and broken promises to the public," and questioned, "Is a regime that suppresses the people's freedom of expression a democratic country?"
