[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund announced on the 4th that its self-published academic journal, Small and Medium Enterprise Finance Research, was selected as a registered academic journal in the 2020 continuous evaluation of academic journals conducted by the National Research Foundation of Korea.
Following its selection as a candidate registered journal in the 2018 continuous evaluation, Small and Medium Enterprise Finance Research was promoted to a registered academic journal in this evaluation with excellent results across all categories, including systematic evaluation and content evaluation.
Founded in 1981 as Guarantee Monthly, Small and Medium Enterprise Finance Research has attracted academic attention by publishing numerous outstanding papers on topics rarely found in general academic journals, such as the economic stabilization effects of public guarantees, abolition of joint guarantees, guarantee support for overseas expansion companies, and measures to establish the entrusted guarantee system.
In particular, the study titled “A Study on the Introduction of a Factoring System without Recourse” was selected as one of the Financial Services Commission’s innovative financial services, serving as a model case where academic research and policy are organically combined.
Yoon Dae-hee, Chairman of the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, stated, “The selection as a registered academic journal is highly significant as it gives the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund a connecting link that unites academia, the field, and policy in the SME finance sector,” and added, “We will continue to devote ourselves to financial research for small and medium enterprises.”
Meanwhile, the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund plans to hold an academic forum in December to commemorate the selection of Small and Medium Enterprise Finance Research as a registered journal.
