[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Emart's clothing brand Days announced on the 15th that it will collaborate with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Korea headquarters to sell 15 items of fall and winter sportswear.

WWF is the world's largest nonprofit environmental conservation organization, conducting various environmental conservation activities through an environmental network spanning over 100 countries worldwide. Days is collaborating with WWF Korea headquarters to participate in building a sustainable fashion industry ecosystem with a sense of responsibility for future generations.

To commemorate this, Emart will offer a 20% discount on all WWF collaboration products for two weeks from the 17th to October 2nd when purchased with a promotional card. Notably, among the collaboration clothing items, four are eco-friendly garments made from recycled yarns such as recycled PET bottles and discarded yarns.

Emart is selling the lightweight padded vest 'Men's and Women's WWF Recycle Eco Vest,' a recycled clothing item, at a discounted price of 15,920 KRW each, and the 'Men's WWF Boa Jumper' and 'Women's WWF Point Jumper,' lined with boa fleece on the inside and outside, at 31,920 KRW each on sale.

For the representative item, the Eco Vest, about six recycled PET bottles were used per piece as filling material. When the planned quantity of 20,000 pieces is converted, a total of 120,000 recycled PET bottles were utilized. Additionally, 11 other items including jackets, jumpers, sweatshirts, hoodies, and pants feature patches and point labels with the panda character representing WWF.

All WWF collaboration clothing items come with paper tags certified by FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). FSC certification is granted to paper and products produced in a sustainable manner.

The reason Days collaborates with WWF and plans to sell recycled clothing is that environmentally friendly consumption, which considers the impact on the environment and society, is expanding in the current era where sustainable environmental creation has become essential. Sales of recycled clothing have also increased by 260% this year compared to last year, showing strong customer response.

Days first launched two items of 'Recycle Pants' in the first half of last year and has since been continuously expanding recycled clothing made from recycled waste. In the first half of this year, Days released a total of 10 recycled clothing items including T-shirts and pants, and in the second half, it is expanding its eco-friendly efforts by collaborating with WWF and increasing the number of products to a total of 15 recycled clothing items.

Saerom Lee, Sports Buyer at Emart Days, said, "Customer response to the recycled clothing first launched last year was good, so we are increasing the number of product items, and this year we are also collaborating with WWF," adding, "Days will continue to make various efforts not only by using recycled materials but also to create a sustainable fashion industry."
