[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education, held a countermeasure meeting on the 4th at Hongik Hall with officials at the level of section chief and above regarding the approach of Typhoon No. 10 'Haishen'.

At the meeting, measures were discussed to minimize damage from strong winds and heavy rain, including emergency restoration plans for facilities damaged by Typhoon No. 9 Maysak, predicting the impact of Typhoon No. 10, and confirming pre-inspection items.

The Korea Meteorological Administration reported that as of 9 a.m. on the 4th, Typhoon 'Haishen' was moving northwest at a speed of 20 km/h in the sea about 900 km southeast of Okinawa, Japan. It is expected to make landfall near Busan on the 7th and pass through the central Korean Peninsula from south to north.

In particular, this typhoon is expected to cause even greater damage as it is approaching consecutively before the recovery from the previous Typhoon 'Maysak' has been completed.

The Gyeongbuk Office of Education plans to operate a facility restoration team this weekend to complete emergency repairs of facilities damaged by Maysak by the 6th. They have guided schools at all levels to adjust school hours, after-school programs, and night self-study, and to operate care classrooms according to the situation.

Superintendent Lim Jong-sik ordered proactive adjustments to school operations to prevent casualties, prior notification to parents, inspection of the situation reporting system for prompt response, and holding appropriate situation assessment meetings during the meeting.
