[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] The logistics centers of SSG.com and Market Kurly, which were closed due to a delivery worker testing positive for COVID-19, will resume normal operations on the 29th.

SSG.com announced that it will resume operations at the Neo003 logistics center in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, which had been closed due to a confirmed COVID-19 case, starting from 10 a.m. on the same day.

SSG.com had suspended operations and conducted disinfection at the logistics center after one delivery worker who worked at Neo003 tested positive for COVID-19 on that day.

SSG.com explained that after the Gimpo City quarantine officials visited the site to inspect the disinfection measures and reviewed the confirmed patient's movement and mask-wearing status through the building's closed-circuit television (CCTV), they decided that delivery operations could resume. Accordingly, after consultation with the quarantine authorities, the logistics center operations will be restarted.

SSG.com stated that it will actively implement additional quarantine measures, such as doubling the number of dedicated safety management personnel responsible solely for disinfecting the logistics center and increasing internal disinfection from twice to three times a day.

They also strengthened personal hygiene rules by prohibiting more than six people from riding elevators simultaneously and enhancing social distancing in break rooms and cafeterias.

The Kimpo 2nd Cargo Collection Center of Kurly, which was closed after confirming that the same infected person had worked there, also resumed normal operations from midnight on the 29th in accordance with quarantine authority guidelines.

Market Kurly's operator, Kurly, stated that epidemiological investigators from the quarantine authorities confirmed that all workers, including the confirmed patient, wore masks while working, and that the delivery area handled by the confirmed patient was thoroughly investigated, confirming that 100% of deliveries were conducted contactlessly.

Accordingly, the epidemiological investigators decided to resume operations considering that there were not many people in close contact with the confirmed patient. Kurly added that after normal operations resume, employees who have not been in contact with the confirmed patient will come to work and proceed with logistics deliveries as usual.
