[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Sejong University announced on the 27th that it will apply classrooms capable of simultaneously accommodating both face-to-face and online lectures for the second semester academic operations in response to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

The 'On-Offline Mix Hybrid Learning Classroom,' created mainly by the Sejong University University Innovation Support Project Promotion Team, is designed to conduct online and offline classes simultaneously. On the professor's podium, a dashboard showing the attendance status of online and offline learners, lecture materials composed of presentations, and camera footage installed in the classroom are streamed in real time. Two AI-based cameras operate in the classroom, automatically tracking the instructor or detecting the voice of a questioner speaking in the offline classroom and immediately focusing on them on the screen.

Additionally, Sejong University has prepared a mentoring method that allows offline classroom attendees to participate in small group rooms via their mobile devices, enabling group-based learning progress and feedback with online classroom participants through the 'Join Small Group Room' function.
