[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] South Korea and China have agreed to expedite Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to South Korea as soon as the COVID-19 situation stabilizes.
On the 22nd, Kang Min-seok, spokesperson for the Blue House, stated in a written briefing that Suh Hoon, Director of the National Security Office, held talks with Yang Jiechi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China responsible for foreign affairs, in Busan, where they reached this agreement.
Spokesperson Kang said, "They agreed to continue consultations between diplomatic authorities regarding the timing of the visit," adding, "The Chinese side confirmed that 'South Korea is the country President Xi prioritizes for his visit.'"
