From Chartering Buses to Creating Routes... 'Kakao T Shuttle' Launches

[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Kakao Mobility announced on the 7th that it will officially launch 'Kakao T Shuttle,' a service that allows users to use shuttle buses anytime according to their desired schedule and departure/arrival locations.

The key feature of Kakao T Shuttle is that users can easily charter a shuttle bus with just one click. It operates on the same concept as chartering a bus and is useful for group transportation such as wedding guest invitations and corporate employee workshops.

By entering the schedule and departure/arrival points in the Kakao T application, users can check the fare in real time and make automatic payments with pre-registered cards all at once. The fare changes due to schedule or number of users can also be checked in real time through the app.

For small group movements such as families or clubs, users can create their own desired routes. Users open a route, share it with other users, and once the minimum number of passengers is met, the shuttle route is finalized.

Additionally, individual passengers can make payments and select seats separately, eliminating the unnecessary process where a representative who gathered co-passengers pays the fare in bulk and then settles individually. The route creator can use the shuttle for free.

The fare is determined based on the bus type, route, and usage time, and includes all incidental costs such as parking and fuel fees. When chartering a shuttle, users can receive up to a 20% discount on the fare. Ji-eun Park, Director of the New Passenger Team at Kakao Mobility, said, "Kakao T Shuttle will play an important role in making the Kakao T app a complete MaaS-type platform that meets all mobility demands without gaps."
