[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Administrative Officer Suyeong Lee said, “While performing general affairs tasks, I had been following the methods used by the previous person in charge, but it was only after the recent audit that I realized what was wrong. I wished there had been a guideline to prevent repeating such mistakes, and when I came across this ‘General Affairs Work Guide,’ I immediately thought this was it.”
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) announced that it has published the ‘General Affairs Work Guide’ to improve the work efficiency of employees responsible for general affairs tasks at departments and community service centers.
General affairs officers are responsible for a wide range of tasks, including personnel and service management, budget execution, and even managing household affairs at departments and community service centers.
Due to the many miscellaneous tasks, most general affairs officers tend to repeat the methods used by their predecessors, leading to repetitive mistakes.
During audits, the district found that similar issues were repeatedly pointed out every year. To reduce these recurring mistakes in similar cases, the district decided to publish this ‘General Affairs Work Guide.’
The ‘General Affairs Work Guide’ includes work processing tips and major audit cases, and is organized in the order of ▲ key schedules of district administration and district council ▲ work processing guidelines by field such as expenditure and contracts ▲ major audit cases (points of criticism) from the past three years.
In particular, to assist practitioners, it meticulously covers frequently made mistakes by including ▲ major violation cases ▲ comparisons between possible and impossible cases ▲ precautions.
It is also exceptional that the guide includes ‘major audit cases from the past three years’ in an easy-to-understand manner so that practitioners can prepare for audits and avoid repetitive mistakes.
Audit Officer Jincheol Kim said, “This guide will play a role in standardizing work and enhancing understanding of current tasks so that the entire organization can operate efficiently.”
