The confirmed case on this day is the 9-year-old son of a 38-year-old Kazakhstani woman who entered through Incheon Airport on the 22nd and tested positive the following day.
The mother and son entered through Incheon Airport on the 22nd, then moved to their home in Seonggeon-dong, Gyeongju City on the 23rd and began self-quarantine. The 38-year-old woman tested positive during self-quarantine, but her son initially tested negative and was later confirmed infected during a re-test at home on the 25th.
Accordingly, as of the evening of the 25th, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the Gyeongbuk region rose to 1,345. This case is the 52nd confirmed case in Gyeongju City (according to Gyeongju City's own tally).
Meanwhile, in Gyeongbuk, earlier on the 22nd and 20th, one Bangladeshi individual each in Gyeongsan and Goryeong also tested positive as overseas-imported cases. The case on the 20th was the first overseas-imported case in 14 days.
On the 6th, the father of brothers attending Daegu Agricultural Meister High School living in Gumi tested positive, and on the previous day, the 5th, a female teacher in her 20s at Gyeongbuk Food Meister High School in Yeongcheon City, residing in Gyeongsan, was confirmed positive. On the 4th, one overseas entrant each in Pohang City and Yeongcheon City tested positive.
