Mercedes-Benz Launches Campaign Supporting Daily Quarantine Measures to Overcome COVID-19

[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Benz Contribution Committee) announced on the 25th that it conducted employee volunteer activities to help vulnerable children and severely ill pediatric patients practice daily quarantine measures to overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Under the theme "Together Healthier with Mercedes-Benz," this campaign is a social contribution activity aimed at helping members of society struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and responding to the post-COVID era. Various events, including employee volunteer activities, are being carried out in collaboration with the social welfare corporation Children and Future Foundation.

In this activity, about 60 employees from Benz Korea and domestic Daimler participated to create 300 infection prevention kits and handwritten support cards, which were delivered to 10 local children's centers and welfare centers nationwide, including Seoul National University Children's Hospital.

The delivered infection prevention kits included correct handwashing poster postcards to help children practice daily quarantine rules on their own, personal quarantine items such as hand sanitizer and masks, and a DIY soap-making set for indoor leisure activities.

A representative of the Benz Contribution Committee said, "We hope that through this employee volunteer activity, the warm hearts of our society supporting vulnerable children and severely ill pediatric patients during COVID-19 will be conveyed," adding, "We will continue to do our best to support a healthy Republic of Korea through our campaigns."

Earlier, the Benz Contribution Committee accumulated 1.8 billion KRW in COVID-19 donations by setting aside 100,000 KRW per vehicle sold from March to May this year. The donations are used to support various community members, including vulnerable children and youth families, medical staff, the elderly, small business owners, and medical institutions.
