[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 22nd that it has installed nighttime landscape lighting in the pine forest in front of the government building to create a nighttime resting space and provide visual attractions for citizens.
The landscape lighting was designed to effectively express the greenery and natural beauty of the pine trees at night and to enhance the three-dimensional effect by projecting light upward from the ground surface.
Orange LED lights were arranged in 79 locations corresponding to the positions of the pine trees, creating a warm and subtle atmosphere.
After test lighting since the 15th, full-scale lighting is planned to begin on the 24th, with lights turning on and off according to sunrise and sunset times.
Kang Young-cheon, head of the city’s accounting department, said, “As the main activity time and environment of citizens gradually shift from daytime to nighttime, we have created nighttime landscape lighting in the pine forest in front of the government building to provide a healing space for citizens.”
