[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Amid the ongoing online classes due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), a teenage male student who unlawfully accessed a class and exposed his private parts has been arrested.

The Cyber Investigation Unit of the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 16th that they are investigating A (18), who is suspected of exposing his private parts during an online high school class.

A is known to be an outsider, not a student enrolled at the school.

He is accused of accessing a first-year online class at a high school in Gwangju on the morning of April 22 and exposing his genitals.

The class was conducted in real-time video format, with teachers and students seeing each other's faces and interacting bidirectionally.

When a student spoke, their image was displayed prominently on the screen, and at that moment, A exposed his private parts.

The teacher immediately blocked the video class program upon seeing this, but all the male and female students participating in the class had already witnessed the scene.

The school subsequently suspended the video classes on April 23 and 24 before resuming them.

Through investigation, the police confirmed that one of the enrolled students had posted the online class ID and password in a mobile group chat, and by tracing the access, they apprehended A.
