Creating a Forest with Over 800 Landscape Trees Cultivated by Residents

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] On the 12th, Jeonnam Sinan-gun announced that it held a proclamation ceremony on the 11th at Sinyong Village, Aphae-eup, to commemorate the creation of 1004 Forest No. 1 and No. 2.

1004 Forest is a small-scale village forest created using landscape trees cultivated by residents. The 1004 Forest No. 1 and No. 2 in Aphae-eup were originally planted with about 800 thorn bushes by village residents over 10 years ago. Sinan-gun has since maintained the trees and created walking trails to transform the area into a village resting place.

Additionally, 1004 Forest is a space freely accessible to everyone, enhancing the pride of village residents and is expected to become a new driving force for Sinan-gun’s key policy project, the Four Seasons Flowering 1004 Islands Development Project.

County Governor Park Woo-ryang said, “Residents who cultivated the landscape trees through the 1004 Forest creation project will generate income, and village residents will be able to use the small park in front of their homes, improving their quality of life. We will actively strive to create various forms of 1004 Forests in the future.”
