[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is transferring passport services to Suwon City.

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 31st that following the transfer of passport services at the Gyeonggi Northern Government Complex to Uijeongbu City in January, it will transfer passport services at the Suwon Gyeonggi Provincial Office to Suwon City starting July 20.

As a result, all 31 cities and counties within Gyeonggi Province will handle passport services.

The province decided to transfer the services, judging that since passport civil affairs are closely related to residents' daily lives, it is more efficient for the respective cities and counties to manage them.

Suwon City will continue to provide passport civil services on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the passport civil service office next to the World Cup Stadium.

To accommodate office workers who find it difficult to visit during working hours, the office will extend its hours until 9 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday.

Suwon City plans to minimize user inconvenience by increasing the number of reception counters through remodeling work at the passport civil service office.
