‘Considerate Jeonbuk’ means ‘a better (better) Jeonbuk full (full) of children (baby) through a considerate workplace culture that is good for having and raising children.’
The business agreement held at the provincial government reception room was prepared for public officials to take the lead in overcoming the low birthrate problem by cooperating between the province and the government employees' labor union to create a workplace culture that is good for having and raising children, including improving childbirth and childcare support systems and activating a considerate culture.
Through the agreement, Jeonbuk Province will strive to improve related support systems such as ensuring that employees do not suffer personnel disadvantages due to childbirth and childcare and to create a considerate culture in the workplace. The Jeonbuk Provincial Government Employees' Labor Union will actively collaborate in implementing the ‘Considerate Jeonbuk’ practice tasks and improving the working environment for employees with childbirth and childcare. Both sides agreed to actively cooperate so that a family-friendly workplace culture that considers employees with childbirth and childcare can spread to the local community.
At the event, Governor Song Ha-jin and Labor Union Chairman Kim Hyung-guk added significance by presenting a consideration badge system to representatives of expectant mothers and fathers. The consideration badge system is a nameplate indicating that the person is an expectant mother or father, attached to personal desks (for those who wish) to promote 360° mutual respect and consideration among employees in the office.
Jeonbuk Province plans to hold a ‘Pledge and Commitment Ceremony’ for all employees to spread ‘Considerate Jeonbuk’ and to promote policies suited to the characteristics of local institutions through ‘Province-City/County-Public Institution Business Agreements.’ In addition, cities and counties that implement excellent policies will be rewarded, and public institutions under the province will be encouraged to actively participate by reflecting this in the ‘management evaluation indicators.’
Governor Song Ha-jin said, “Although everyone in the province is going through difficult times due to COVID-19 these days, I believe that we are overcoming it well thanks to our ‘culture of togetherness.’ I will do my best to ensure that ‘Considerate Jeonbuk,’ another culture of togetherness, spreads throughout the region and improves awareness to overcome the low birthrate problem.”
