[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Suncheon City Council (Chairman Seo Jeong-jin) conducted the first municipal administration-related questions of the year at the 2nd plenary session of the 241st extraordinary meeting on the 13th.
Councilor Park Hye-jung, who asked questions for the first time, inquired about the appropriateness of the Jangpyeong-ro street tree transplantation project and the improvement construction of Simin-ro, the designation as an East Asian Cultural City and the progress of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage registration, views on support for out-of-school youth, and the impact of universal design on the quality of life of Suncheon citizens. She also checked Suncheon City's preparedness for the establishment and inspection of the disaster response system.
Next, Councilor Oh Kwang-mook questioned measures regarding the bankruptcy of subcontractors caused by Suncheon City's responsibility during the Palma Stadium renovation project promoted in 2015, and the road improvement plan from Tongcheon Village to Gyo-ryang Bridge. He also urged Suncheon City to make efforts to become a central city commemorating and memorializing the Yeosun October 19 Uprising.
Lastly, Councilor Heo Yoo-in asked about the progress of the Yeonhyangddeul urban development project and detailed land use plans. He proposed lowering the height of the buffer green space near Baekgang-ro from Geumdang Park to Suncheon Postal Concentration Office and creating diagonal parking lots within the buffer green space to revitalize the Yeonhyang Geumdang area. He also suggested opening a pedestrian area from Baekgang-ro towards the old Haneulmi as a road. Additionally, he proposed changes to the landscape plan for efficient station area development around Suncheon Station and modifications to the building restrictions in the central city street zone.

원본보기 아이콘Meanwhile, Councilor Park Jae-won addressed the progress of the Suncheon-type startup policy and efficient use of the budget, and Councilor Nam Jeong-ok responded in writing regarding plans to attract a medical school and general hospital in the southeastern region of Jeollanam-do, solutions to traffic congestion caused by new apartment construction, plans to relocate Suncheon Prison, Seomyeon Industrial Complex, and the general bus terminal, and the Miracle Forest creation project on Yonggye Mountain.
