[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] A public opinion poll revealed that President Moon Jae-in's approval rating for his administration slightly declined compared to the previous week but still remained in the 60% range.


According to Realmeter, which conducted the poll commissioned by tbs from the 11th to the 13th, the positive evaluation of President Moon's administration was recorded at 61.5%, up 0.5 percentage points from the previous week's weekly aggregate, announced on the 14th. Negative evaluations rose by 1.0 percentage point to 33.4%.


The gap between positive and negative evaluations was 28.1 percentage points, which is outside the margin of error. Positive evaluations have been higher than negative evaluations outside the margin of error for eight consecutive weeks.


By region, positive responses increased in Daegu-Gyeongbuk (54.6%→46.3%) and Gyeonggi-Incheon (63.0%→66.1%). By age group, those aged 70 and above (46.9%→55.2%) showed an increase, and by political affiliation, positive evaluations rose among the non-affiliated group (40.8%→32.7%) and Minsheng Party supporters (37.0%→40.3%). Additionally, approval ratings increased among housewives (55.7%→61.2%) and conservatives (34.2%→37.6%).

Regarding party support, the Democratic Party of Korea rose 0.3 percentage points to 44.0%, and the United Future Party increased by 1.2 percentage points to 27.3%. Other parties were surveyed as follows: Justice Party 5.3%, Open Democratic Party 5.2%, People's Party 3.9%, and Minsheng Party 1.8%.


This survey contacted 32,215 voters aged 18 and over nationwide, with a final 1,506 respondents completing the survey, resulting in a 4.7% response rate.
