[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Junho] Choi Ki-young, Minister of Science and ICT, visited the National Science Museum, which resumed operations on the 6th following the transition to the daily quarantine system, to inspect the on-site operation status on the 14th.
He personally experienced the entrance procedures at the gates and the 2-meter distancing rule while touring the exhibition halls, following the actual movement paths of visitors to the museum. He then focused on checking whether there were any inconveniences for the public using the science museum and if there were any points to improve in the operation of the daily quarantine system. The National Science Museum limits the number of visitors per day and does not operate contact- or enclosed-type exhibition halls that pose a risk of infectious disease transmission.
Minister Choi said, "Since the safety of visitors is the top priority, strict adherence to daily social distancing guidelines and quarantine measures must be ensured to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within the science museum," and added, "Please operate the exhibition halls safely under the daily quarantine system so that the National Science Museum can serve as a model not only for other national science museums but also for domestic public and private science museums as the central science museum of our country."
