원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] 'GodGod' (chat name), who operated the 'Nth Room' on Telegram, where women were threatened to produce sexual exploitation videos and distributed, has been identified as university student Moon Hyungwook (25). It has been reported that he additionally confessed to threatening the victim's mother in connection with a minor sexual assault case he admitted to ordering.
According to the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency, Moon Hyungwook reportedly admitted to most of the charges related to operating the 'Nth Room' during the police investigation.
In particular, Moon confessed that he threatened the mother of minor B, who was sexually assaulted by a man A, who had received instructions from him, in the downtown area of a metropolitan city, through social networking services (SNS) and other means.
It was also revealed that after A committed the sexual assault, when B's mother tried to report it to the police, Moon sent messages to threaten her.
The police reportedly applied charges of intimidation under the Criminal Act against Moon Hyungwook.
Earlier, Moon had proposed to A, whom he met on SNS at the time, "B is my slave. You can do whatever you want when you meet her."
Moreover, Moon is also accused of threatening B to film sexual exploitation videos and send them via social media, then distributing them in the Telegram 'Nth Room.'
Moon was summoned by the police on the morning of the 9th and was interrogated for about 10 hours, during which he confessed, "I am GodGod."
The police applied for an arrest warrant against Moon on the 11th on charges of violating the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles Against Sexual Abuse, and the court issued the warrant on the 12th, citing flight risk.
Meanwhile, on the afternoon of the 13th, the police held a personal information disclosure review committee and decided to disclose the personal information of 'GodGod' Moon Hyungwook.
The committee stated, "We thoroughly reviewed the suspect's human rights and the secondary damage that may be caused to the suspect's family and acquaintances by disclosing personal information, but considering the malicious and repetitive nature of the crime and the sufficient human and material evidence secured, we have comprehensively deliberated the public's right to know and prevention of recidivism in similar crimes, and decided to disclose the name, age, and face."
Accordingly, when the police transfer Moon Hyungwook to the prosecution on the 18th, they plan not to cover his face with a mask or hat.
