[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Ki-dong] Mokpo City (Mayor Kim Jong-sik) announced on the 12th that it will participate in the regional-linked youth startup support project hosted by Seoul City to support Seoul youths settling in Mokpo.
The purpose of this project is to connect Seoul youths, who find it difficult to obtain startup and employment opportunities, with local areas lacking young populations, helping Seoul youths settle in the provinces through startups utilizing local tourism and cultural resources, and creating new jobs.
The project involves 13 local governments nationwide, including Mokpo City, recruiting participants from the 11th of this month until the 7th of next month. Eligible applicants are individual youths aged 19 to 39 residing in Seoul or teams of up to three members.
Both prospective youth entrepreneurs and existing entrepreneurs can apply, with about 200 people (around 100 teams) to be selected, giving preference to those originating from the respective local governments.
Selected youths will receive support of up to 70 million KRW per team from Seoul City. Mokpo City will provide support such as guided field tours of tourist sites, office space, accommodation, transportation, and meal expenses during the period when the selected Seoul youths come to Mokpo and engage in activities.
