[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] Yoon Jae-kwan, Deputy Spokesperson of the Blue House, stated on the 2nd, "Regarding the wildfire in Goseong, Gangwon Province, the Blue House held a video conference situation assessment meeting chaired by the National Security Office Director from 23:05 to 23:35 on the 1st."

Deputy Spokesperson Yoon explained, "The meeting was attended by the Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Minister of National Defense, the Director of the Korea Meteorological Administration, the Deputy Director of the Korea Forest Service, the Chief of Staff of the Army, officials from the Fire Agency, the National Police Agency, and representatives from Gangwon Province and Goseong County."

In particular, Deputy Spokesperson Yoon said, "Prioritizing residents' safety, we checked the status of resident evacuations, the nighttime wildfire situation, and necessary measures to prevent its spread. We also received and confirmed reports from relevant ministries and agencies regarding the firefighting operations to resume at dawn," adding, "The government plans to mobilize all available resources, including firefighting helicopters, fire trucks, and firefighting personnel, at daybreak to fully commit to early containment."
