[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] As daily quarantine measures have spread as guidelines for the entire population, essential infection prevention products against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are gaining attention.
Cobiplatec's Real Bulk Plasma technology applied air sterilizer and purifier Airpla and air sterilization deodorizer Xpla are highly sterilizing devices that significantly enhance air sterilization functions considering the risk of virus infection in indoor air. They sterilize 99.9% of infectious bacteria such as super bacteria MRSA, pneumonia bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus, and E. coli in the air, and remove harmful gases like ammonia by more than 99.5% through deodorizing functions certified by the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), an accredited testing institution.
Additionally, KTL ozone emission test results verified that ozone emission is below 0.004 PPM, which is far less than the Ministry of Environment's ozone forecast good grade standard of 0.03 PPM, indicating a level below natural conditions.
The air sterilizer and purifier Airpla is a 3-in-1 product that simultaneously solves air purification, sterilization, and deodorization in one stop. It features a triple filter system consisting of a HEPA filter, deodorizing filter, and pre-filter, which removes not only viruses but also fine dust, ultrafine dust, and harmful gases.
The air sterilization deodorizer Xpla is a 2-in-1 product with sterilization and deodorization functions. It physically destroys microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses in the air and deodorizes harmful gases such as VOCs, everyday odors, bad smells, and excrement odors. Designed with a real plasma module for semi-permanent use, it eliminates the need for filter replacement.
Propad's antibacterial film Cu+ was developed to alleviate users' anxiety about virus infection caused by cross-infection and button touches inside elevators. When attached to plastic or stainless steel handles and buttons where viruses survive for a long time, it shortens the virus survival period and blocks fingertip cross-infection. The principle is that copper nanoparticles in the film oxidize, depriving oxygen and killing viruses.
It is already used in government offices, various companies, and apartments, and can be applied to locations with high potential for indirect contact by users such as elevator buttons, handles, and self-checkout counters.
An industry official said, “As the number of people concerned about virus infection and health increases recently, the introduction of sterilization and hygiene function products for multi-use facilities to practice daily quarantine is rapidly increasing,” adding, “Not only individual hygiene efforts but also multi-use facilities should continuously engage in proactive quarantine activities to prevent various virus and bacterial infections and efforts to ensure users' safety, rather than one-time measures.”
