According to the court on the 26th, the Suwon District Court Criminal Division 11 (Chief Judge Kim Mi-kyung) recently sentenced A (23), who was indicted on charges including murder, to this term.

The court stated, "The defendant showed a planned execution of the crime by hiding the victim in a travel bag and entering a motel," but also "considering that the defendant has no prior criminal record, experienced unwanted pregnancy and childbirth, stress from childcare and housework, discord with her husband who is not the biological father, estrangement from her parents, leading to an unstable state at the time of the crime, and that she surrendered immediately after the crime," as reasons for the sentencing.

A is accused of putting her one-month-old son B into a travel bag and taking him to a motel where she killed him in the early morning of November 17 last year.

After giving birth to B, who is not her husband's son, A suffered from anxiety and was investigated to have frequently quarreled with her husband due to difficulties in raising the child.
