[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] In the 21st National Assembly election for the Seo-gu Gap electoral district of Gwangju Metropolitan City, incumbent Song Gap-seok, the Democratic Party of Korea candidate, was finally elected.
Candidates Joo Dong-sik, Kim Myung-jin, Kim Joo-eop, and Kim Sung-ho followed.
Song Gap-seok expressed his gratitude, saying, "I will take the choice of the citizens of Gwangju seriously."
He added, "It was a solemn demand to create a safe country resilient to any disaster and a strong and robust economy," and said, "It was a strong desire to complete the reforms of the Moon Jae-in administration."
He also emphasized, "I will work even harder in the 21st National Assembly," and "I will not forget the earnestness I appealed to the citizens of Gwangju two years ago."
He continued, "I will not lose the original intention of proudly serving as the head of the civil petition office in Gwangju and working with all my strength," and stated, "We will quickly overcome the massive disaster of COVID-19 and prepare for the 'post-COVID' era first."
Furthermore, he promised, "I will bring greater development to Gwangju," and "I will stand together with the citizens of Gwangju."
